North Star Lodge No. 13

This is the site of the former masonic lodge for African Americans in Courtland, the North Star Lodge No. 13. Constructed c. 1920, a two-story concrete block building with a gable front housed lodge business and served as classroom space for upper grade levels after fire destroyed both North Alabama Baptist Academy buildings in the late 1920s and 1930s.
The lodge building was razed in 2019.
